Dr. Ramon L. Lloret is a founding member and president of the Cardiovascular Center of South Florida where he manages the group practice’s hospital program. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine, completed an internship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and finished his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami Affiliated Hospitals in Miami. After serving as an assistant professor of internal medicine at the VA Hospital in Miami, he completed a cardiology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Lloret is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology. A member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention, he has specific interests in management of acute coronary syndromes including the expeditious management of heart attacks and congestive heart failure management.
He has served as principal investigator in numerous clinical trials involving acute coronary syndromes, hypertension, lipid disorders and various anticoagulation and clotting disorders. He was the lead author in the Starship Trial sponsored by AstraZeneca focusing on the treatment of hyperlipidemia in the Hispanic population. Dr. Lloret was named the Good News Care Center Volunteer Physician of the Year and continues to perform volunteer work in the community by treating unfunded patients on a pro bono basis.
He is fluent in English and Spanish. He practices at the Cardiovascular Center of South Florida, Baptist Hospital of Miami and Baptist Cardiac and Vascular Institute.
